Position Overview:

The Teradyne Field Applications team is in search of a dynamic and motivated Field Application Engineer. This role involves collaborating with team members and working independently to create imaginative, comprehensive, and practical application solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, troubleshoot, and implement testing solutions for Analog and Mixed Signal semiconductor devices.
  • Develop software for test programs, often in a collaborative setting.
  • Review and design load board/probe card schematics for testing solutions.
  • Analyze issues and propose solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to enhance customer throughput.
  • Collaborate with test engineering clients to refine and enhance testing processes.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance the quality of test coverage.
  • Oversee the transition of test solutions to production, including handler and prober equipment, ensuring correlation and gauge R&R.
  • Identify customer requirements focusing on: a) Conceptual design of hardware, software, and test cell integration. b) Electrical and mechanical hardware schematics. c) PCB & hardware design inputs and requirements for interface hardware.
  • Innovate new techniques and designs for characterizing and testing semiconductor devices.
  • Showcase tester capabilities for customer evaluations.
  • Assist clients with tester operations and capabilities.
  • Provide training, technical exchanges, and technical documentation.
  • Establish strong technical relationships with customers to gain insights into their needs and directions.
  • Maintain a general understanding of ATE industry trends and competitive products.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5-8 years of experience in the semiconductor testing sector with hands-on involvement in IC component testing project development.
  • Experience in test/product engineering for analog, digital, mixed signal, and RF testing preferred.
  • Prior programming experience on Teradyne or other semiconductor ATE platforms is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Visual Basic, Windows NT, C, C++ programming.
  • Competent in Windows and Excel applications.
  • Familiarity with handler and prober interface experience is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and native language.
  • Proven technical expertise.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams may qualify for a senior position.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more, both domestically and internationally.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields.
