Role Summary:
The Principal Engineer, Field Applications, will play a pivotal role in providing expert field applications support centered around Analog Devices' renowned power products and tools. Familiarity with additional technologies such as mixed-signal analog, interfaces, sensors, and digital solutions is advantageous. This position involves tailoring optimal technology solutions to meet customer requirements while expanding Analog Devices' market presence. Collaboration with sales teams, peers, business units, and technology groups is essential to identify key opportunities and influence new product definitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and clarifying customer system needs versus desires.
  • Designing and proposing component-level and system solutions tailored to customer specifications.
  • Collaborating closely with sales engineering and field applications engineering colleagues to nurture customer relationships.
  • Delivering training sessions on Analog Devices' products and solutions to customers.
  • Identifying and proposing new product opportunities to enhance product lines based on customer feedback.
  • Staying abreast of new product technologies and industry trends.
  • Partnering with the sales team to strategize and execute plans for key customers.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in product management, marketing, and applications.
  • Conducting seminars on Analog Devices' power products, including demonstrations of development and simulation tools.
  • Participating in ongoing training to deepen expertise in ADI's technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product, design, and/or field applications engineering or a related field.
  • Diverse experience in power circuit design at both board and system levels.
  • Preferred experience with high current, multi-phase core power systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in presenting to and collaborating with all levels of management, sales, and engineering teams.
  • Fluency in SPICE simulation tools.
  • Practical knowledge of control theory.
  • Experience with PMBus/I2C protocols.
  • Aptitude for coaching and assisting others with design and power simulation tool challenges.
  • Excellent hands-on laboratory and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to deliver persuasive presentations.
  • U.S. citizenship is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically 25% - 35% of the time.
