Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Primary Care Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care services to patients, including conducting medical histories, performing physical examinations, and developing treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Order diagnostic tests and procedures as necessary to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as authorized by state law and VA regulations.
  • Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner, including maintaining accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in primary care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or eligibility for certification.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in a state or territory of the United States.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a primary care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a VA or military healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of VA policies and procedures.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Ability to speak a second language.
