Job Description

This is a responsible customer service, cash receipting, and administrative position which involves moderately complex work methods and problems. Work involves performing a wide variety of customer service, cash receipting, and administrative duties which require the application of sound judgment in the interpretation of policies and regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Collects and processes all customer receipts, including but not limited to, property tax payments, utility bill payments, accounts receivable, and parking ticket remittances.
  2. Collects and processes all receipts received from other City departments.
  3. Provides assistance, either in person or over the phone, to customers regarding City billing and collection policies and procedures.
  4. Reconciles cash receipts and compiles the bank deposit on a daily basis.
  5. Primary contact for parking citation questions, and provides information on the appeal process.
  6. Updates vehicle registration suspensions and processes satisfactions on suspended citations.
  7. Communicates with Parking Manager and customers regarding review forms and updates parking system.
  8. Works with Appleton Police Department regarding towed vehicles due to excessive citations.
  9. Sets court dates and processes required paperwork for parking citations.
  10. Sells and records Valley Transit bus tickets and MSB disposal tags.
  11. Processes mail and night deposit box receipts.
  12. Answers telephone as Finance Department telephone customer service representative for utility, tax, parking, and miscellaneous City Hall telephone calls; responds to inquiries and routine complaints and/or routes calls to appropriate individuals or departments.
  13. Completes utility account move in and move outs.
  14. Maintains regular punctual and predictable attendance, works overtime and extra hours as required.
