Position Overview:

The Plant Financial Controller serves as a crucial business partner and member of the plant leadership team within a complex manufacturing environment. This role encompasses all aspects of plant accounting and financial management, ensuring the integrity of financial operations. The Controller provides guidance and support to management in financial decision-making related to production, procurement, and investments. This position requires a blend of detailed analytical skills and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver financial guidance and support to the plant manager and core management team concerning financial planning, budgeting, and procurement activities.
  • Oversee cost tracking and operational metrics, including plant incentive plan KPIs.
  • Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction and revenue enhancement, supporting operational and financial improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including internal monthly statements, forecasts, audits, and budgets.
  • Lead discussions and prepare materials for financial reviews, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Foster a culture of strong internal controls and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and assess capital spending requests for the plant.
  • Act as the primary contact for audits of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Monitor inventory movements to identify and mitigate potential financial risks.
  • Ensure accurate representation of assets and liabilities on the balance sheet.
  • Review monthly segmentation results for accuracy.
  • Engage proactively in plant operations through meetings and interactions with staff.
  • Participate in profitability improvement projects and finance process enhancements.
  • Manage direct reports, focusing on their selection, development, and performance management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
  • Master's degree and/or CMA/CPA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in finance-related roles.
  • Experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP systems, with SAP R/3 experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and monthly closing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles and financial data analysis.
  • Understanding of strategic planning and resource allocation principles.
