Position Overview:

ABOUT THE ROLE

VHB is seeking a dedicated Site/Civil Engineer to enhance our Land Development team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to address all facets of site and civil engineering for both public and private projects. This includes expertise in grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater system design for a variety of initiatives such as renewable energy sites, recreational facilities, residential developments, transportation systems, and water quality enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, environmental specialists, and landscape architects to create comprehensive site civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of infrastructure projects, emphasizing sustainability and resilience.
  • Develop design plans from initial concepts through to construction documentation.
  • Assist in the creation of permitting, design, and construction documentation.
  • Contribute to technical and design report writing.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to identify their requirements and address design and permitting challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in site/civil engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Experience with GIS, HydroCAD, and StormCAD is advantageous.
  • Capability in preparing graphics and maps.
