Position: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the overall management and operations of the facility, ensuring the safety and dignity of all residents. This role involves collaborating with staff to meet resident care objectives and facility goals effectively. The director must maintain comprehensive management of the establishment, including staff coordination, third-party services, deliveries, repairs, inspections, and any other factors that influence resident safety and wellbeing.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful performance in this role requires adherence to established guidelines and protocols, along with the ability to communicate effectively in various forms. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. Education and Experience: Candidates must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly, as well as follow both written and verbal instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: High School Diploma and FLORIDA CORE Certification are required.

Skills and Abilities: A deep understanding of the needs of the elderly is essential. The director must be able to identify unusual behaviors or physical conditions in residents and report these observations to the resident care supervisor. Familiarity with all facility policies and procedures is crucial. Additionally, the ability to manage stress, prioritize multiple tasks, make decisions under pressure, and exhibit strong organizational skills is necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position entails moderate physical demands, including frequent walking, bending, lifting, and other physical activities during work hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to the role, though additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor:

  • Review all entries in the communication logbook at the start of each shift.
  • Assess resident notes from the previous day and make necessary corrections.
  • Ensure resident safety through appropriate behavioral interventions.
  • Oversee the collection of room and board fees monthly and manage deposits.
  • Coordinate with community staff to meet resident needs and ensure alignment with care plans.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels to provide quality care for residents.
  • Update resident information in electronic formats promptly.
  • Document all communications with residents, families, and responsible parties in the database.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulatory agency requirements.
  • Manage monthly billing procedures to sustain cash flow.
  • Submit payroll hours bi-monthly to the relevant agency.
  • Conduct monthly census analysis reports to track trends and maximize occupancy.
  • Place weekly orders for food, paper goods, chemicals, and consumables while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and families during crises.
  • Ensure the facility's common areas are presentable for visitors and families.
  • Practice proper hygiene and handwashing techniques for infection control.
  • Conduct facility tours for visitors as needed.
  • Answer phones as required.
