Skills and Abilities: A strong understanding of the needs of the elderly is crucial. The ability to identify unusual behaviors or physical conditions in residents and report these observations to the resident care supervisor is required. Familiarity with all facility policies and procedures is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage stress effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, make decisions under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position entails moderate physical demands, including frequent walking, bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling during work hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential, but additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor:

  • Review all entries in the communication logbook at the start of each shift.
  • Assess resident notes from the previous day and make necessary corrections.
  • Ensure resident safety through appropriate behavioral interventions.
  • Oversee the monthly collection of room and board and ensure timely deposits.
  • Collaborate with community staff to meet resident needs and ensure alignment with care plans.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels to provide care for residents.
  • Ensure timely updates of resident information in electronic systems.
  • Document all communications with residents, families, and responsible parties in the database.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulatory agency requirements.
  • Manage monthly billing procedures to maintain cash flow.
  • Submit payroll hours bi-monthly to the appropriate agency.
  • Conduct monthly census analysis reports to track trends and optimize occupancy.
  • Place weekly orders for food, paper goods, chemicals, and consumables while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with EMS and families during emergencies.
  • Ensure the facility's common areas are presentable for guests and families.
  • Practice proper hygiene and handwashing techniques for infection control.
  • Provide facility tours to visitors as needed.
  • Answer phones as required.
