The Chief Nursing Officer - Clinical Operations Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing department and clinical operations at Everest Rehabilitation Hospital Llc. This role requires a strong leader who can develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership
- Develop and implement nursing and clinical department goals, objectives, and standards of performance.
- Organize nursing and clinical departments according to administrative and nursing service guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with legal, organizational, and medical staff standards.
- Operations
- Direct and coordinate functions and activities of nursing department and assigned clinical operation departments.
- Consult with and advise the Chief Executive Officer on the general operation of the hospital.
- Manage multiple subordinate department managers who supervise staff members in multiple departments.
- Quality
- Contribute to and/or lead the appropriate initiatives outlined in the Strategic Quality Plan.
- Maintain a system which verifies licensure/certification, qualifications, experience, and competency of each member of the nursing department.
- Evaluate each member on a timely basis.
- Financial
- Collaborate with hospital leadership in the preparation of a budget and the development of a capital expenditure plan for the nursing department.
- Responsible for cost controls to insure maximum effectiveness of funds expended from approved departmental budgets.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Masters degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or clinical specialty preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
- License/Certification
- Required: Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Must maintain license throughout employment.
- Experience
- Minimum of five years experience in healthcare administration/management with a minimum of two years experience at a senior nursing management level.
- Minimum of five years experience in hospital management in an inpatient, acute care environment.
