We are currently in search of our inaugural Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Executive Officer will partner with the board to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment, formulate a strategic vision, establish a grantmaking framework aligned with this vision, and develop effective policies and procedures for operations, grant management, and communications. Jewishsac aims to be an innovative and proactive foundation, viewing its grantees as partners and working closely with them to ensure the success of their initiatives.

This role reports directly to the Chair of the Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Board on organizational direction.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of the foundation's daily operations in compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Manage the grant application process, grant agreements, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop the annual budget and ensure sound financial management of the foundation's resources, including oversight of the investment portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Board to create a marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the foundation's mission, implementing it through various channels.
  • Foster strong, collegial relationships and maintain ongoing communication with Board members, grantees, prospective grantees, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and prepare materials for Board meetings, including agendas, minutes, financial reports, and other relevant documents.
  • Facilitate opportunities for existing grant recipients to share insights and experiences, as well as explore innovative ways to expand their programs.
  • Engage with the community to enhance the organization’s endowment.
  • Assist in maintaining all legal and financial records, including general and investment accounts, and coordinate with external accountants for tax-related matters.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A proven leader with exceptional emotional intelligence.
  • Strategically minded: capable of stepping back from daily operations to identify broader trends and opportunities, integrating this information into an operational strategy.
  • Extensive experience in organizational development, both short- and long-term.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and highly adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on experience in budget management and sound business judgment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must reside in Central Florida or be willing to relocate.
  • Ability to travel throughout Central Florida.
  • Strong commitment to Jewish traditions.
  • Experience working with older adult populations is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated compassion and empathy for the communities served.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in grantmaking.
  • Experience collaborating with a Board of Directors.
