About the Role

By The Yard Inc is a leading outdoor furniture brand seeking a highly motivated Commercial Sales Business Development Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strategic relationships with commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate sales through existing and new commercial customers
  • Collaborate with our design team to maximize commercial clients' space and experience with our product
  • Organize lunch and learns with designers and commercial clients
  • Prepare and process sales quotes and orders
  • Provide exceptional customer service and make recommendations to clients based on their needs
  • Develop and generate new business opportunities and income for assigned markets
  • Follow up on company-provided leads and generate own prospects and referrals
  • Present high-value proposals to sales leaders, trainers, and C-level executives
  • Achieve/exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota
  • Identify, pursue, engage, and close new clients and grow existing clients and opportunities
  • Generate and qualify leads through various methods, including cold calling, referrals, research, etc.
  • Complete market research and monitor competitor activity
  • Undertake continual learning and education
  • Ability to travel regionally with daily or overnight stays to maintain a consistent presence with local office staff, customers, and prospects
Requirements
  • Travel is required for this position
  • 3-5 years of experience in business development or commercial sales preferred
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to drive to/transport and set up trade show booths as needed
  • Position is located in Jordan, MN (not remote)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience in property management, commercial real estate, project management, or design preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, multi-task, shift demands, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and detail-oriented skills
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365
