POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general oversight, the Clinician Associate Licensed is responsible for conducting comprehensive screenings and biopsychosocial assessments, including suicide risk evaluations and other specialized assessment tools for client evaluation.

Utilizes sound clinical judgment to make triage decisions, formulate clinical diagnoses, and develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients. Provides individual and group therapy, family counseling, and various treatment modalities grounded in evidence-based practices.
Coordinates care with the treatment team and external support systems.
Exhibits clinical expertise in mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, while considering social determinants of health.
Performs duties from a recovery-oriented, client-centered, and trauma-informed perspective.
Documents all services in the electronic health record in accordance with agency standards.
Regularly seeks clinical supervision and additional guidance as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessments

Conducts thorough biopsychosocial assessments for clients of varying complexity, ensuring documentation aligns with agency protocols.
Employs specific assessment tools as required by agency guidelines.

Integrates information from diverse sources to formulate the Interpretive Summary and client-driven treatment plans.

Demonstrates clinical acumen in assessments, applying diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions.

Identifies the potential need for involuntary evaluations, coordinating with independently licensed staff, and may assist in transferring clients to appropriate facilities.


Advanced Therapeutic Counseling

Establishes therapeutic relationships with clients and their families/significant others.
Facilitates individual, family, and group counseling/therapy sessions, as well as educational workshops utilizing evidence-based interventions.
Exhibits clinical knowledge in treating mental health and substance use disorders, along with co-occurring conditions and social determinants of health.
Demonstrates documented clinical proficiency in client engagement, interviewing techniques, evidence-based practices, and service documentation.

Ensures timely documentation of clinical services, completed concurrently or within 24 hours post-service delivery (48 hours for group sessions) in an electronic health record.

Utilizes Telehealth effectively when appropriate in service delivery.

Care Management and Planning

Develops, communicates, and coordinates treatment plans for clients with complex and/or high-risk clinical presentations.
Demonstrates expertise in care planning through clear objectives, goals, and specificity of the plan. Updates treatment plans as client needs evolve.
Serves as a resource for staff, sharing up-to-date knowledge of Claratel Behavioral Health, community, regional, and state resources.
Assists the treatment team in problem-solving regarding necessary resources for complex and high-risk clients.
Ensures timely communication with providers through appropriate written and verbal exchanges as per policy.
Documents referrals, discharges, and resource issues for problem resolution and utilization as required by agency policy.
Effectively manages a caseload, ensuring outreach and follow-up occur in accordance with agency policies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Maintains licensure/certification.
Actively participates in clinical supervision.
Engages in behavioral health educational initiatives.
Seeks continuing education to meet evolving clinical needs.
Meets clinical service delivery hour expectations.
All clinical documentation must comply with agency and regulatory standards.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Current licensure as an LMSW, LAPC, or LAMFT by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists is required.
Demonstrates competency in utilizing evidence-based treatments for mental health and substance use disorders.
Proficient use of electronic health records is essential.
Exhibits initiative, flexibility, and professionalism in all interactions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience in residential or outpatient settings focused on mental health or substance use programs.
Experience working with diverse populations, including adults, children, and adolescents.
Experience in facilitating group counseling/therapy services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Outpatient behavioral health clinic office setting with a standard workweek of Monday through Friday, with potential evening and/or weekend hours as determined by clinic needs.
