Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the formulation and implementation of a cutting-edge, digital-first strategy focused on course pedagogy across various STEM fields.
  • Enhance and adapt content and program strategies utilizing Macmillan Learning's digital platforms (Achieve, iClicker) alongside partner technologies.
  • Shift from a traditional textbook-centric model to a holistic course-based strategy, amplifying educational value and competitive positioning.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to swift, iterative content development and efficient program execution.
  • Employ data-driven strategies to boost market share and ensure elevated retention rates, establishing a dominant market presence.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Finance, Marketing, and Sales, to optimize business results and educational impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven leadership experience in educational technology sectors, ideally with a background in infusing a start-up mentality into established organizations.
  • Expertise in product-led growth strategies, with a successful history of leveraging these approaches to achieve business transformation.
  • A strategic mindset with extensive experience in digital education product operations and market strategy innovation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a commitment to data-driven decision-making and metrics.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and guide diverse teams through periods of change.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the educational technology sector or related media industries transitioning from print to digital.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a senior leader successfully guiding teams through market transformations.
  • 5+ years of experience in customer-centric business models that necessitate the development of key user networks to foster growth and innovation.
  • Proficiency in educational technology systems and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to data-informed practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree.
  • Certifications in product marketing, product discovery methodologies, or contemporary market segmentation strategies.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to maintain focus during extended periods, manage multiple tasks, lift materials up to 35 lbs., walk significant distances on campus, and endure long durations of sitting or standing at events. Frequent travel, including driving for extended periods, is necessary. Attendance at national and regional meetings is expected, with the possibility of extended hours during peak seasons.
