Key Responsibilities

Recognizing the integral link between leadership, management, and exemplary teaching for improved student outcomes, the Leading Teacher's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing and managing the execution of comprehensive school improvement initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Overseeing the implementation of school-wide strategies focused on curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Facilitating professional development opportunities and crafting individualized and team development plans for teaching staff.
  • Managing staff performance and development through regular reviews.
  • Conducting demonstration lessons to showcase effective teaching practices.
  • Guiding the development of assessment and reporting policies and practices.
  • Overseeing the implementation of school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline.
  • Leading curriculum development in a primary learning area while contributing to other areas as needed.
  • Addressing general discipline matters beyond the scope of classroom management.
  • Contributing to the overall leadership and management of the educational institution.
  • Assisting in the formulation of proposals for consideration by the school council.
  • Developing and maintaining the school's code of conduct.

Eligibility Criteria
