The Technical Support Specialist plays a crucial role in diagnosing and resolving client application and software issues, while also directing requests to relevant departments when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address user inquiries and technical problems, accurately document incident classifications, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Follow up with clients to confirm issue resolution and ensure incidents are properly closed in the tracking system.
  • Identify trends and patterns in incidents and maintenance, providing insightful reports as needed.
  • Gather information from users to effectively resolve issues, either remotely or in person.
  • Maintain, analyze, and repair hardware and software systems.
  • Support and uphold information technology (IT) policies and procedures.
  • Set up and configure new systems, applications, and upgrades.
  • Manage user account details, permissions, and rights, including group settings.
  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot network connectivity and wireless access for both local and remote devices.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, including memory, keyboards, motherboards, and other components.
  • Install, set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers for end users.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
  • Travel to the local office as needed to assist with repairs, onboarding new hires, and various tasks.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional setting providing IT support; experience in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong foundational computing skills (Windows 11, Microsoft 365).
  • Interpersonal skills and maturity to handle potentially challenging situations professionally.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn IT support functions and processes; a background in Information Technology is preferred.
  • A+ and/or Network+ certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Bentley products is a plus.
