Position Overview
The Restaurant Manager is accountable for overseeing the comprehensive operations of a Jack in the Box location. This role requires sound judgment in daily management decisions, ensuring the effective implementation of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and adherence to the Brand Promise. The manager will cultivate a team dedicated to delivering exceptional internal and external service, driving restaurant sales and profitability while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Internal Service Excellence: Responsible for recruiting, selecting, training, developing, and evaluating restaurant personnel. Monitors staffing levels to ensure adequate development and talent; ensures training systems are effectively implemented and followed by both management and crew; identifies and nurtures internal candidates for advancement. Collaborates with the management team to ensure the execution of the Service Profit Chain and fosters a work environment that is engaging, clean, and safe. Motivates and inspires employees to achieve peak performance while treating all staff with respect and dignity, regularly recognizing and rewarding their contributions. Complies with all applicable labor laws and regulations.

- External Service Quality: Manages daily operations to achieve outstanding performance in restaurant operations. Ensures an exceptional guest experience by providing proper training and holding the team accountable for consistently delivering high-quality service and food in accordance with company standards. Reviews operational practices and makes necessary adjustments to enhance the guest experience; maintains visibility and interaction with patrons; addresses guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions. Ensures the management team and crew operate all systems effectively, maintaining the brand's image through cleanliness, maintenance, and superior service.

- Sales and Profit Management: Utilizes management information tools to assess restaurant operational and financial performance regularly, including income statements, quality and service reports, health inspections, and safety protocols. Identifies trends and implements action plans for improvement; leverages data to analyze business outcomes and consults with regional resources as necessary. Focuses on increasing restaurant sales and profitability by executing the Service Profit Chain and understanding its impact on overall business performance. Monitors costs and adherence to budgetary goals.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum of 1 year as an Associate Manager and/or 2 years as a First Assistant Manager; must be fully certified in all workstations. External Recruit: Minimum of 3 years managing a service-oriented business with full P&L responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be at least 18 years old; completion of Restaurant Manager training classes required; ServSafe certification is necessary. Requires proficiency in English; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to perform basic math; proven analytical skills; and strong organizational and planning abilities. Self-starter who takes initiative and accepts responsibility. Proficient in personal computers and related software applications. Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk approximately 85%-95% of the shift; ability to lift and carry 10-65 lbs; ability to move freely throughout the restaurant; ability to operate restaurant equipment and drive a motor vehicle. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.
