El Responsable EHS será fundamental en la promoción de los objetivos empresariales, programas y procesos dentro de un área o segmento de negocio. Su misión será implementar, mantener y mejorar todos los aspectos del programa ambiental de la empresa, asegurando el cumplimiento de las normativas de salud y seguridad, así como de los requisitos de OSHA, EPA y normativas locales y estatales. En este rol, utilizará su experiencia para resolver problemas, desarrollar y ejecutar objetivos tanto para sí mismo como para otros, impactando en los objetivos empresariales a corto y largo plazo.
Las actividades específicas pueden incluir, pero no se limitan a:
- Proporcionar apoyo y asistencia EHS en las instalaciones de la empresa.
- Iniciar e influir en la integración de políticas y prácticas EHS en el negocio.
- Liderar y gestionar una variedad de requisitos de EHS y la implementación de cumplimiento, que incluye regulaciones, permisos de aire, tratamiento de aguas residuales y gestión de residuos peligrosos.
- Investigar accidentes industriales, lesiones y problemas ambientales para determinar causas raíz y medidas preventivas.
- Reportar y revisar hallazgos de investigaciones de accidentes y pruebas ambientales.
- Implementar y modificar programas y procedimientos EHS para asegurar el cumplimiento normativo.
- Mantener un conocimiento profundo de los requisitos regulatorios aplicables, incluyendo la retención de registros y documentación necesarios.
- Recomendar características de seguridad de procesos que reduzcan la exposición de los empleados a sustancias químicas.
- Supervisar pruebas de calidad del aire, niveles de ruido y temperatura para verificar el cumplimiento de las regulaciones de salud y seguridad.
- Trabajar con consultores y contratistas en temas relacionados con EHS; mantener lazos con organizaciones externas para facilitar la respuesta a emergencias.
- Planificar simulacros de respuesta a emergencias.
- Modificar e implementar programas de seguimiento de cumplimiento y sistemas de registro; asegurar que existan programas de educación EHS efectivos y coordinar la capacitación de los trabajadores en áreas como leyes y regulaciones ambientales y de seguridad.
- Desarrollar y colaborar con equipos en el sitio enfocados en el desarrollo, implementación y mejora de programas EHS.
- Apoyar el diseño e implementación de proyectos de capital actuando como experto en EHS.
- Medir el progreso hacia el cumplimiento de las expectativas corporativas.

Calificaciones Clave:
- Título universitario en Ciencias Ambientales, Higiene Industrial o campo relacionado.
- Mínimo de 5 a 10 años de experiencia en diversas áreas de EHS en un entorno de fabricación.
