Job Summary

The Service Supervisor/Field Service will direct the generator and off-highway engine service business for the assigned territory. This role is responsible for promoting field service sales while responding to customers' technical field service questions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Service: Make sales calls and solicit customers for all field service repairs to meet sales and margin objectives, and to grow as a business profitably.
  • Field Service Repair Sales: Handle all aspects of field service repair sales, including preparation and delivery of field service quotes to customers, and follow-up to answer customers' questions.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain communication with customers to promote customer relations and loyalty.
  • Maintenance Contracts: Plan and coordinate the implementation of maintenance contracts with the admin and Field Service Sales team.
  • Installation and Training: Direct the installation of generator equipment with employees and customers. Update customers on installation plans. Oversee and schedule training for all service department personnel.
  • Sales Calls and Customer Disputes: Make sales calls with the Operations Manager and sales reps to obtain potential customers, as well as current users or sellers of W.W.Williams products/services to promote business and retain customers. Resolve customer disputes in connection with either factory or distributorship warranties.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree in business or engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: Five years' field experience in diesel engines and electrical mechanics and generators.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of various Power Generator (MTU, CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, etc...) products. Must have extensive understanding and knowledge of warranty and service programs available for MTU, MTU OE, and Detroit Diesel Off-Highway products.
  • Skills: Ability to travel to customers' offices and facilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
