Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of an Accountant include managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, aiding in audits, reconciling accounts, and monitoring the organization's financial assets, liabilities, profits, losses, tax obligations, and other financial activities to ensure accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general and cost accounting tasks along with other related functions within the accounting department.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Reconcile accounts and finalize monthly financial records.
  • Manage daily bank account activities, including entering deposits and addressing bank inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial data.
  • Verify vendor bill payments and ensure charges are allocated to the correct accounts.
  • Monitor and execute all accounts payable check activities and wire transfers.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation.
  • Manage company credit card users and accounts; monitor balances daily.
  • Substantiate financial transactions through document audits.
  • Support asset maintenance and reporting for fleet management.
  • Assist with tax filings and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant accounting experience is necessary.
  • In-depth knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
