Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Supervisor at the City of Blaine, MN. This role is responsible for the supervision of rentals at the Mary Ann Young Center, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants and program attendees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend an orientation and training session to familiarize yourself with facility operations and emergency procedures.
  • Open and close the facility properly, ensuring all equipment and systems are functioning correctly.
  • Set up rooms for rental, arranging furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Complete a facility checklist following each rental to determine any damage or issues.
  • Maintain a log of any damage or incidents occurring during rentals.
  • Exercise effective judgment regarding the well-being of participants and program attendees.
  • Maintain safety, discipline, and control in an active environment.
  • Complete and submit necessary reports and forms in a timely manner, including time sheets and incident reports.
  • Find a substitute from a supplied list if unable to work assigned shift.
Requirements
  • Ability to ensure rentals adhere to reserved timelines.
  • Ability to determine and maintain a safe environment and act accordingly in an emergency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Basic knowledge of use of defibrillator.
Conditions of Employment
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of all application paperwork and a background check.
  • This position is not eligible for benefits.
