Reports To: General Manager of Operations, President, and CEO (Building Projects)

General Purpose of Job: Supervise the mechanics and upkeep of facilities, structures, and machinery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise mechanics and maintenance personnel, ensuring ongoing training and enhancement.
  • Ensure cleanliness and overall organization of facilities and grounds.
  • Collaborate with various vendors to guarantee proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance vendors for equipment and building/grounds.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for all production equipment, including PM logs.
  • Understand, teach, and adhere to Operations Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work alongside Managers and Shift Supervisors to achieve the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager of Operations and President on machinery acquisitions and Research & Development of specialized production machinery.
  • Design, train, and implement safety programs for technicians (e.g., Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Create a program for ordering supplies/materials for relevant departments.
  • Ability to read and comprehend all associated forms and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness in production areas at all times.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Performance Measurement: Feedback on performance will be provided both verbally and in writing as needed, with recognition during monthly employee acknowledgment meetings, formal training on changes in SOP as required, and a formal review by the supervisor at least annually.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronic and mechanical troubleshooting on automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Prior experience in roll stands, direct mail, bindery, and/or fulfillment industries on high-speed inserters preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn machine operations.
  • Previous involvement in a safety team and/or safety training is advantageous.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Lean manufacturing and/or quality control training preferred.
  • Must be available for overtime as required.
  • Willingness to rotate to other shifts as necessary to train existing and new technicians.
  • Pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are mandatory.
Physical Demands:

Frequent standing or walking, with the potential for climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Regularly lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 70 lbs. Use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.

Work Environment:

Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to hazardous chemicals. The noise level may range from moderate to loud.
