Job Overview

GGS Information Services, Inc., a leading provider of technical documentation solutions for prominent manufacturers in various sectors including transportation, aerospace, construction, and agricultural machinery, is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Parts Catalog Specialist.

The selected candidate will engage in thorough research of engineering data, assess implications for technical documentation, and develop or update Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs) in accordance with change requests and established guidelines for jet engine components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate raw engineering data pertaining to jet engine components.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ascertain necessary modifications to publications.
  • Prepare amendments to IPCs through manual revisions of existing documents.
  • Utilize draft modifications to implement changes in the designated authoring system.
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee multiple project timelines, provide estimates, and track performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Participate in quality enhancement initiatives such as Six Sigma when applicable.
  • Compile parts lists and illustrations using various software applications, and may conduct quality assurance reviews of completed catalogs or manuals.
  • Evaluate new and existing catalog figures to confirm accuracy and quality upon completion.
  • Work collaboratively across functions in a global environment, interfacing with engineers, technical writers, and technicians to gain familiarity with parts installation and operational methods.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Program Manager regarding project and individual goals to ensure timely completion of assignments while upholding quality and accuracy to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide insights on estimated hours and resources needed for projects to facilitate accurate project quotations and assist in identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Research vendor catalogs for artwork and parts listing information.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with commercial jet engines is preferred (GE experience is advantageous).
  • A/P License is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A background in Mechanical Engineering is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply service bulletins, design change packages, engineering drawings, and various technical documentation for integration into IPCs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software tools is essential.
