Role Overview

We are seeking a proficient Lead Commodity Buyer to join our Actuation & Accessories procurement team. This role is pivotal in managing supplier relationships to secure optimal contractual terms, pricing, quality, and delivery schedules, while ensuring satisfaction among internal stakeholders. You will oversee the complete supplier engagement process, from the request for proposal (RFP) stage through to contract execution and fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of supplier relationships, including bidder list creation, RFQ management, bid analysis, negotiation processes, contract awards, and fulfillment documentation.
  • Monitor supplier on-time delivery (OTD) and quality performance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery commitments and timelines.
  • Facilitate MRB documentation between suppliers and internal teams.
  • Lead supplier recovery planning and execution as required.
  • Develop and implement supplier strategies to maximize overall value, ensuring consistent delivery aligned with schedule and quality standards.
  • Manage claim negotiations and oversee special projects as necessary.
  • Track engineering change activities and coordinate detail overlap processes with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal, and Manufacturing.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of procurement practices towards industry best standards.
  • Provide guidance to functional managers on supply base processes and methodologies.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business with a minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, including RFPs, supplier selection, and contract management. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma/GED and at least 10 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, subcontract execution, and manufacturing workflows.

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in sourcing controlled hardware such as valves, tubing, ducting, and wiring harnesses.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience in engaging with executive leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and supplier relationship management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Experience within the aerospace sector.
