Restaurant Operations Supervisor

Key Contribution:
The Restaurant Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of McAlister's by overseeing and managing restaurant functions to guarantee an exceptional guest experience and financial success.
This position is responsible for directing restaurant operations, achieving sales and profit targets, and upholding the highest standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation by supervising managers and team members.
Reporting Relationship:
The Restaurant Operations Supervisor reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Functions:
Ensure a High Quality Operation:
Delivers a positive experience and atmosphere for Team Members, Managers, and Guests.
Guarantees prompt and friendly service in accordance with McAlister's standards.
Ensures consistent production of high-quality food.
Oversees team members' activities and performance on a shift-by-shift basis.
Enhances Guest experience through a proactive presence and timely delivery of accurate food orders.
Monitors service steps to ensure a positive Guest experience reflecting the McAlister's Touch.
Maintains an inviting atmosphere through appropriate music and lighting levels.
Fosters positive Guest Relations by building relationships and addressing complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.
Collaborates with local authorities to manage regulatory and governance-related matters.
Assists in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
Regularly inspects dining areas, food receiving, preparation, production, and storage to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Adheres to the standards outlined in the Policy & Procedures Manual, Red Line Crisis Guide, and Operations Manual.
Maintain Controls:
In partnership with the General Manager, reviews financial data such as sales and costs, and monitors the budget for efficient operations.
Conducts product line checks to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
Completes daily documentation and projects punctually.
Follows cash control policies and procedures diligently.
Achieves positive labor results through proactive scheduling and responsiveness to business trends.
Manages capital expenditures within the restaurant.
Conducts inventory assessments and calculates food and beverage costs.
Manage Team Members:
Ensures effective recruitment and training of new team members.
Hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates all team members.
Builds positive relationships with team members and managers by treating everyone with respect.
Reduces turnover by addressing and resolving team member and manager concerns.
Supports an open-door policy for communication.
Develops team members and ensures timely performance evaluations.
Maintains a well-trained staff through effective training programs.
Advocate a Team Environment:
Promotes high morale and motivation within the restaurant.
Holds hourly team accountable for their responsibilities.
Addresses team conflicts professionally and works towards constructive resolutions.
Creates an environment that prohibits harassment.
Manage Personal Development:
Exhibits effective leadership and strong organizational skills.
Sets personal goals for professional growth.
Maintains a positive and professional demeanor.
Implements company programs and decisions with commitment and support.
Assistant Manager Qualifications:
Aptitude:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Capable of working under pressure and solving problems effectively.
Able to follow and provide direction.
Service-oriented with a strong attendance record.
Availability to work all shifts during restaurant hours.
Experience:
Two (2) year associate's degree or a bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college (preferred).
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Must possess the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
Capability to lift loads exceeding 35 pounds.
Occasional travel may be necessary for deliveries, visits to other locations, or company meetings. Reliable transportation is required to meet these travel obligations.
