The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll for all PCOM campuses./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/pulliOversee the calculation of wages, overtime, taxes, and deductions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state laws./liliEnsure that payments and all reports, internal and external, are disbursed timely and accurately./liliCoordinate activities of workers engaged in recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, and maintaining payroll control records./liliManage the Payroll Specialist./li/ulpbRequirements:/b/pulli3-5 years experience as a Payroll Manager./liliExperience with payroll and accounting in a higher education/nonprofit organization is highly desirable./liliEllucian Banner experience and expertise are highly preferred./liliKronos timekeeping experience helpful./li/ulpbEducation:/b/pulliRequired: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of degree and experience./li/ulpbCertifications, Licenses, Registrations:/b/pulliCPM or CPP preferred./liliMembership in PayrollOrg (previously APA (American Payroll Assoc)) preferred./li/ulpbSkills:/b/pulliIntegrity and sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively and professionally work with administration, faculty, and staff./liliExtremely reliable and has demonstrated experience meeting deadlines./liliAbility to maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information./liliMust be detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and thorough in the planning and implementation of work tasks./liliProficiency in payroll analysis and reconciliations./liliExcellent organizational and communication skills./liliRefined ability to provide leadership and training to key personnel./liliAbility to work independently, multitask and prioritize, reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy, and be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities and assignments./liliProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (strong Excel skills) and financial accounting processes and systems./liliKnowledge of and experience with payroll software systems. Demonstrated knowledge of payroll taxes, laws, and regulations./liliMust be resourceful and flexible in using available resources and technology in the most efficient manner; must be highly adaptable to technological change./li/ul
