Job Overview

Our client, a well-established organization in the Higher Education sector, is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to lead payroll functions and play a key role in an upcoming ERP transition. The successful candidate will have experience with payroll systems like Kronos and Banner, with potential transition to Workday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll processing, distribution, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure consistent interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Manage timekeeping systems, train new timekeepers, and review records for approval.
  • Handle special payroll requests in line with company policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll regulations and coordinate with external payroll tax services for reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Additional Details:

  • On-site 5 days/week, potential for hybrid after 30-90 days based on performance.
  • Business casual dress code.
  • Free on-site parking.
