Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for registering patients for services, verifying insurance benefits, and determining required payments. You will also communicate with referring providers, clinical departments, and other personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with patients and/or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, providing explanations of visits, instructions, and addressing concerns and questions.
  • Communicate with referring providers' offices, clinical departments, and/or other personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedules.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
  • Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.
  • Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
