Business Development Executive

LJB Inc. is a national engineering firm that provides civil and structural engineering, as well as geospatial, safety, and environmental services. Our diverse expertise, client base, and geographies have enabled LJB to serve clients in all 50 U.S. states and several countries.

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Executive to support our Safety team in creating new opportunities for LJB's safety practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with experience in the AEC industry and a proven track record of success in client development and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a sales plan to target new and dormant clients in the fall protection market.
  • Engage in networking events, such as conferences and industry organizations, to build relationships with clients and influencers.
  • Conduct discovery meetings with prospects and write meeting summaries to track progress.
  • Execute a prescribed sales process to ensure successful client engagement.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure delivery capability, project execution, and continuity of communication.
  • Attend planning meetings in Dayton and other LJB offices to stay informed and aligned with company goals.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or safety.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or another professional license preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the AEC industry, with a focus on client management and development.
  • CRM database experience preferred.
