Job Overview Position Objective: As a Cyber Resilience Systems Specialist, you will deliver expert services in support of the Center for Information Technology (CIT) initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with Microsoft to establish a robust cyber resilient framework that empowers the organization to proactively defend against and effectively respond to cybersecurity challenges. The selected candidates will engage with the IT Support Services team to: Develop and validate standardized configuration and deployment strategies for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) across various platforms including Windows, Mac, Server, and Linux; Achieve enrollment of 80% of Windows workstations into Microsoft Intune; Facilitate the transition of Mobile Device Management (MDM) authority to Intune as necessary; Evaluate the feasibility of adopting Intune as a sanctioned Endpoint Management solution; Assist in the planning and implementation of MDE and Microsoft Defender Antivirus (MDAV) across all NIH Institutes and Centers; Aid in the creation of enrollment guides for Windows and macOS to support NIH adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide project management support and guidance for specific initiatives. 3
  • Identify unmet requirements, introduce innovative technologies, and collect feedback from users to enhance the reliability of tracking and data collection processes. 5
  • Deliver integrated domain expertise across complex computational systems. 4
  • Assess needs and provide IT support for computerized systems that facilitate operations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, interpret results, and perform analysis.
  • Prepare documentation and offer solutions to support ongoing needs assessment and strategic planning related to systems management and engineering. 2
  • Provide necessary documentation and participate in code reviews, planning meetings, and regular status updates. 1
  • Collaborate with users to explain new tools and assist in their adaptation to meet specific research requirements.
  • Maintain software and hardware configurations, ensuring security and performing upgrades as needed.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard data integrity.
  • Engage in client-side development and integrate components with server-side applications. Test and maintain software products to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Investigate new technologies, standards, and systems to enhance existing products and services.
  • Manage backup and archiving systems to prevent loss of critical research data.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
  • Proficient in Azure, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft MDE/MDAV, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in Azure Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Endpoint Management, and Microsoft Intune Development.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
