Role Overview:

The Project Engineer position within the Advanced Engineering Group is designed for entry-level support of Engineering Staff on Capital and Plant Support Projects, with budgets ranging from $15M to $150M. This role will involve leading small to mid-sized projects under management guidance. Responsibilities will include both desk-based design work and hands-on installation management, requiring a dual skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support projects from conception to completion, including equipment design and process engineering, while managing detailed budgets and timelines.
  • Oversee contractors in various trades (civil, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical) and coordinate the mechanical assembly of designs, ensuring a hands-on engineering approach.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and materials to identify critical drivers and establish effective controls.
  • Develop and lead qualification efforts for modifications in manufacturing processes and the introduction of new products.
  • Utilize technical software proficiently, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and advanced 3D CAD software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with foundational knowledge in the converting or process industry.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machinery, along with a solid understanding of industrial safety standards.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional engineering programs, leveraging both internal and external resources.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in evaluating systems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control, design of experiments, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and process validation techniques.
