Position: Project Engineer - Construction

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is seeking a Project Engineer - Construction to enhance our Building & Construction division. This role presents an excellent opportunity to advance a dynamic career within the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) sector.

The Building & Construction division offers comprehensive assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services, along with building science solutions, ensuring Total Quality Assurance for the constructed environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a range of tasks involving independent assessments utilizing established techniques, procedures, and criteria, exercising judgment to make minor adjustments to these standards.
  • Prepare and evaluate engineering reports, project plans, and specifications created by others.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Develop scopes, budgets, and timelines for various assignments.
  • Draft proposals for professional services.
  • Review recommendations in collaboration with the Principal Consultant.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships while identifying new project opportunities.
  • Participate in client site meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and project teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide training to technicians and other technical personnel.
  • Conduct on-site observations, sample collection, and specific testing as needed.
  • Work in both field and laboratory settings regularly.
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Construction, Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering from an accredited Engineering/ABET institution is mandatory; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant civil/geotechnical engineering experience is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Potential travel of up to 25% may be required.
  • A valid Driver's License and a dependable driving record are required.
