Position Overview:
The Post-Closing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the resolution of deficiencies identified by investors during the loan purchase review process. This position requires thorough research of loan files, clarification of any ambiguities with investors, and collaboration with various departments to secure necessary documentation. The specialist will utilize investor platforms and the Loan Origination System (LOS) to monitor daily tasks, upload required documents, and ensure timely loan purchases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine investor loan deficiencies and leverage processing, underwriting, and closing expertise to address issues without escalating to underwriters or branches.
  • Conduct daily reviews of deficiency pipelines to identify loans needing remediation.
  • Analyze suspense conditions and ensure resolutions are achieved by specified deadlines.
  • Seek clarity from investors regarding documentation required to rectify deficiencies.
  • Assess closed loan files to verify if suspense items are already included.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and borrowers to gather necessary documentation promptly.
  • Draft formal responses to agencies/investors following audits that reveal deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and events related to loan files.
  • Monitor daily condition reports from investors for updates on deficient loans.
  • Track aged loans in the active pipeline until they are purchased by investors.
  • Meet production goals set by management while adhering to internal service level agreements.
  • Uphold customer trust by delivering consistent quality service and maintaining confidentiality of all files and information.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in mortgage closing, processing, underwriting, or post-closing functions, with a strong understanding of regulatory and investor guidelines across various loan programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agency and investor guidelines and overlays.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines with effective prioritization and organization.
  • Proficient in collaborating with all levels of management and third-party vendors.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay Range:
  • $55,000-$70,000
  • This pay range reflects a variety of compensation factors, including candidate experience and location, while allowing for potential salary growth within the role.
