About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective legal compliance programs to ensure our organization's adherence to legal standards and in-house policies.
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them, ensuring the integrity of our business processes.
  • Draft and revise company policies to reflect changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments to ensure seamless compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices, promoting a culture of compliance within the organization.
  • Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company's operations and policies, ensuring our organization remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience with climate compliance, legal, and compliance auditing.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • An analytical mind able to 'see' the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable working with computer software and databases.
  • Professional Certification in Compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) will be an added advantage.
