Healthcare Service Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients in a courteous and professional manner, manages phone inquiries, registers patients, collects co-payments, updates demographic and insurance details, and schedules follow-up appointments and test requisitions.
  • Completes all required continuing education as mandated, including OSHA, CPR, infection control, billing, and safety training.
  • Keeps the reception area and waiting room organized and tidy.
  • Oversees the financial operations of the front office, including processing credit card transactions, issuing receipts, handling cash and checks; accurately logs and reconciles all patient payments in accordance with established policies.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergencies by notifying the appropriate personnel.
  • Performs clinical tasks under the supervision of a physician in an outpatient environment.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in computer and Electronic Medical Record systems and adapts to varying clinical settings.
  • Contributes to the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives while adhering to established policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with governmental regulations and accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) by the American Association of Medical Assistants or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) through American Medical Technologists or an equivalent credential within six months of employment.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
