Job Summary

We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to serve as the second-in-command in our kitchen, following the Executive Chef's specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will utilize their culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers' satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and prepare menus that meet our quality standards.
  • Produce high-quality dishes that are both visually appealing and delicious.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively, meeting our quality and timeliness standards.
  • Assume responsibility for planning and directing food preparation in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Resourcefully address any issues that arise and take control of problematic situations.
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance.
  • Order supplies to maintain an adequate inventory.
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with colleagues and customers.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sous Chef.
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
  • BS degree in Culinary Science or related certificate is a plus.
