PRODUCT SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is essential in supporting both customers and staff with their product inquiries while maintaining accurate inventory and pricing details. It is crucial for this position to stay informed about our product and service updates to effectively meet customer needs and contribute to sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist walk-in clients at the front counter.
  • Support service technicians at the back counter.
  • Help phone customers with product orders.
  • Create sales orders or quotes for customers.
  • Process requisitions for product orders.
  • Follow the purchasing procedures diligently.
  • Expedite purchase orders and update order information as needed.
  • Receive items and organize stock on shelves appropriately.
  • Utilize existing surplus inventory when available.
  • Ensure price adjustments are made or notify Inventory Administrators of any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Maintain frequent communication with customers and staff, escalating relevant issues to management.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts.
  • Perform housekeeping duties related to product and retail areas.
  • Coordinate with service and sales departments to pull and order necessary products.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position operates Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in inventory management is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Oracle/NetSuite is beneficial.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety policies and practices are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
  • Strong team-oriented attitude and work ethic.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves exposure to various weather conditions and requires working in a shop/warehouse environment and at customer job sites.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may need to lift/carry weights of up to 42 lbs occasionally, 32 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly. Lifting may involve moving items from floor to knuckle, knuckle to shoulder, and other positions as necessary. The role may also require standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, or kneeling.

Flexibility in work hours is required, including potential overtime, weekend work, and extended hours with minimal notice based on operational needs.
