Role Summary:

The Vice President of Business Development will oversee sales across various business channels, including Ecommerce, Specification, and Wholesale Distribution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong strategic vision for product and sales development, along with a proven track record of success in multiple business channels and established relationships within the lighting design sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to enhance business growth within the US, aligning new product development with diverse sales channels.
  • Collaborate with global sales and business development teams to establish a comprehensive multi-channel sales enablement strategy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with specifiers, lighting designers, and architects in both domestic and international lighting markets.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Sales Team, guiding Executive Directors in achieving sales objectives and fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues, channel conflicts, and challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Engage with the leadership team to assess WAC Lighting's strategic direction, policy formulation, budget planning, and resource negotiation annually.
  • Conduct market research to generate innovative product ideas, including target markets, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts.
  • Manage expenses, returns, and discount budgets within approved limits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field.
  • 15+ years of Sales Leadership experience in technical, domestic, or global commercial lighting sectors.
  • Established relationships within the domestic and international specification community.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve successful sales outcomes.
  • Experience in managing and driving multiple sales channels effectively.
  • Familiarity with emerging electronic technologies and control platforms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics, including market trends, competition, and customer needs.
  • Strong executive presence with the capability to communicate complex organizational messages at senior levels.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing long-term business strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Proven effectiveness in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and navigate internal and external challenges.
