Westport Properties, Inc. is experiencing significant growth and is in search of a Financial Analyst II with a robust background in real estate management, possessing comprehensive knowledge of GAAP principles related to property accounting and consolidations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful history in a financial role, managing daily accounting operations and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
This role will oversee various financial aspects for a portfolio of 20-30 properties.

The candidate must be capable of executing the following tasks and managing the associated responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive accounting for 20-30 properties
  • Monthly examination of the general ledger, including posting accruals, reclassifications, and conducting variance analysis
  • Prepare and compile funding requests for lenders, coordinating and following up on funding approvals
  • Process distributions for partners/investors
  • Monitor escrow balances
  • Compile monthly/quarterly financial statement packages with necessary supporting documentation

Accounts Payable Processing:
Review, code, and obtain necessary approvals for invoices
Conduct bank reconciliations
Maintain schedules for capital expenditures and fixed assets
Assist with ad hoc analyses and other assigned tasks
Qualifications Required
Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multi-site accounting, property management, or real estate construction
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Yardi is highly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP principles related to real estate accounting and consolidations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic work environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Collaborative team player capable of working with various departments
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent from an accredited institution is required
Relevant work experience and advanced accounting certifications may substitute for the degree requirement
