We are currently in search of a skilled Accountant II to contribute to our Real Estate Accounting and Operations division. This role is designed to be hybrid, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
As an Accountant II, you will be instrumental in supporting Pacific Life's growth by managing accounting and reporting tasks related to the financial activities of our real estate equity investments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Uploading trial balances from Property Managers for the monthly financial close.
- Conducting data validation for financial uploads on a monthly basis.
- Monitoring shared mailboxes and processing daily cash transactions in financial systems.
- Uploading non-financial performance indicators for real estate properties monthly.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and reconciliations.
- Supporting the compilation of quarterly Financial Statement Analytics.
- Preparing schedules and liaising with property managers for the annual financial statement audit.
- Managing multiple requests efficiently and responding in a timely manner.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach to work.
Preferred Attributes
Candidates who stand out will have:
- Experience in public accounting and familiarity with real estate.
- Progress towards CPA certification.
- Prior experience with financial software such as Yardi or PeopleSoft.
- The ability to adapt to changing environments and manage ambiguity effectively.
- A versatile skill set that allows for multitasking.
