Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

As a Flight Training Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the growth of PSA Airlines by collaborating with the Check Airman Supervisor and Flight Training Administration to ensure that initial training for pilots is effectively scheduled, monitored, and documented. You will also assist the Director of Training and the Manager of Simulator Training and Standards in maintaining up-to-date departmental goals, policies, and procedures. Please note that this position does not include line qualifications or placement on the PSA Pilot Seniority list.

Primary Duties
  • Deliver initial Flight Instruction in a Full Flight Simulator, along with occasional ground instruction
  • Instruct new, upgrading, and transitioning PSA Pilots
  • Comply with Company Standard Operating Procedures
  • Complete Student Training Records
  • Undertake developmental tasks as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and related Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs
Position Requirements

Qualifications

Required
  • Eligibility for CL-65 PIC Type Rating
  • Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot License
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience as a 121 instructor is recommended
  • Previous experience as a 121 check airman is preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the US if hired
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Additional Information

Work Environment: This position operates within a professional office setting. The role typically involves the use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, and filing systems.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. This is primarily a sedentary position; however, the employee may frequently need to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift items up to 25 lbs, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms.
Security Clearance: All employees must successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) in accordance with 49CFR, as well as a pre-employment drug screening.
