Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist

Ambassador Personnel is looking for a Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist to become part of our client's workforce. This is a direct hire opportunity with a reputable organization.
The ideal candidate will take charge of creating, executing, and sustaining safety initiatives to guarantee adherence to relevant regulations. This role demands outstanding communication and organizational abilities, alongside the capacity to evaluate and pinpoint potential risks in the work environment. The Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist will also travel to various sites to facilitate safety training sessions, conduct safety evaluations, and offer advice on optimal practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Design and implement site-specific training programs and strategies.
- Perform safety inspections and evaluations to confirm compliance with regulations.
- Deliver safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Examine accidents and incidents to ascertain root causes and corrective measures.
- Oversee environmental conditions to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Create emergency response strategies for hazardous materials incidents.
- Conduct air quality assessments and sampling.
- Execute risk evaluations to identify potential hazards.
- Possess knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, safe work practices, and accident prevention initiatives. Familiarity with state workers' compensation guidelines and OSHA standards is essential.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree (or higher) is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in HSE regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT) are required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing safety and environmental programs or projects.
- Proven leadership in directing an HSE program/system within a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with hazard identification, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis is preferred.
- OSHA 501 certification is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
