Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist

Ambassador Personnel, Inc. is in search of a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. This role involves working with a reputable organization focused on maintaining high safety standards.
The ideal candidate will take charge of creating, executing, and upholding safety initiatives to guarantee adherence to relevant regulations. Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential, along with a keen eye for identifying potential workplace hazards. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will also engage in site visits to deliver safety training, conduct audits, and advise on best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and enforce safety policies and protocols.
- Design and implement tailored training programs for specific sites.
- Perform safety evaluations and audits to verify regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Examine accidents and incidents to identify root causes and necessary corrective measures.
- Oversee environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
- Create emergency response strategies for hazardous material situations.
- Conduct air quality assessments and sampling.
- Execute risk evaluations to pinpoint potential hazards.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, safe work practices, and accident prevention strategies, including state worker's compensation guidelines and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT) is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing safety and environmental initiatives.
- Proven leadership in directing an HSE program within a manufacturing context.
- Experience in hazard identification, behavioral safety, and job hazard analysis is preferred.
- OSHA 501 certification is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
