Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Create and implement tailored training programs for specific sites.
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections and audits to verify adherence to regulations.
  • Deliver safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to ascertain root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor environmental conditions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Devise emergency response strategies for hazardous material situations.
  • Carry out air quality assessments and sampling.
  • Perform risk evaluations to pinpoint potential hazards.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, safe work practices, and accident prevention strategies, including familiarity with state workers' compensation guidelines and OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher is mandatory.
  • Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT) is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing safety and environmental programs or projects.
  • Proven leadership in directing an HSE program/system within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis is preferred.
  • OSHA 501 certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary.
