Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Create and implement tailored training programs for specific sites.
- Conduct thorough safety inspections and audits to verify adherence to regulations.
- Deliver safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to ascertain root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor environmental conditions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Devise emergency response strategies for hazardous material situations.
- Carry out air quality assessments and sampling.
- Perform risk evaluations to pinpoint potential hazards.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, safe work practices, and accident prevention strategies, including familiarity with state workers' compensation guidelines and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT) is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing safety and environmental programs or projects.
- Proven leadership in directing an HSE program/system within a manufacturing context.
- Experience in hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis is preferred.
- OSHA 501 certification is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary.
