Job Summary:

The Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) division is a vibrant engineering group focused on the development and certification of control and diagnostic systems for military, commercial, and industrial gas turbine engines.

CDS oversees all facets of engine control and diagnostic system development, including:
requirements analysis, system and software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification, and validation.

We ensure seamless integration of control and diagnostic systems with other engine modules and provide comprehensive support throughout the engine product lifecycle.

The Real-Time Embedded Systems sector within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts hardware and manages resources for engine control and health management applications using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:
• Develop requirements, capture designs, and write low-level software for embedded processors in C language
• Debug software on target platforms
• Conduct hardware-software integration testing
• Document standard work processes
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Mentor junior engineers
• Participate in collaborative meetings with CDS Product Managers
• Present findings to Component Integration Product Team (CIPT) as required

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• 8+ years of engineering experience with embedded systems, or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for security clearance eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in developing and troubleshooting safety-critical embedded software
• Proficient in C, Ada, and assembly languages
• Familiarity with Python
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1394, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, and CAN bus
• Experience with software configuration management and agile methodologies
• Proficient in using logic analyzers and emulators
• Experience in safety-critical embedded software verification to meet RTCA DO-178 certification standards
• Proven experience in control system software architecture and design
• Understanding of test hardware and setups

Employees in Hybrid roles will regularly work both onsite and remotely. This means that job responsibilities must be performed onsite on a consistent basis.
Specific details regarding role type and current site status will be communicated during the recruitment process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's responsibility.
