Program Officer, Education and Cultural Exchange Programs

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Officer to join our team at the Institute of International Education. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing a portfolio of programs that support language and cultural exchange initiatives.
Job DescriptionThe Program Officer will be responsible for:
- Serving as the main point of contact for a portfolio of IIE programs, responding to questions, providing programmatic training and onboarding for new staff at partner universities, and following up on program deliverables.
- In collaboration with IIE's grants and contracts team and the oversight of the team Director, facilitating the institutional grant award process by drafting grant umbrella awards and annual project orders.
- Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on program progress, outcomes, conduct, and program and financial compliance. Responding to program and financial compliance queries and providing technical guidance. Providing regular updates on grantees to the team Director and program sponsor.
- Conducting site visits to monitor program progress and compliance, as needed. Planning agenda for the visit in close collaboration with the team Director, program sponsor, and grantee.
- Analyzing program data to make policy recommendations. Providing input on policy and process communication and coordinating the rollout of program guidelines through providing training and support to program partners.
- Maintaining program communications and data in Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, following established processes.
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of program events, including orientations, activities, programmatic webinars, and annual program meetings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- A strong understanding of international education programming.
- Interest in or knowledge of language and culture-focused programs.
- For Project GO/LTC, higher education experience and/or U.S. military and ROTC experience preferred.
- Ability to manage intercultural and emergency issues.
- Demonstrated project management, time management, and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters.
- A high level of financial numeracy and accuracy preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,155 - $72,712, commensurate with experience.
