Chief Medical Officer for Psychiatry Residency Program

Establish a new Psychiatry Residency Program as the Founding Program Director with Physician Empire in Charleston, SC. This exciting opportunity involves building a program from the ground up, setting its strategic direction, and ensuring its high standards, quality, and reputation.
About the OpportunityWe are seeking an accomplished physician leader to spearhead our Psychiatry Residency Program, integrating it seamlessly into our established GME foundation, physician practices, and hospital clinical services. The successful candidate will foster an optimal environment for medical education and professional practice.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of the Psychiatry Residency Program, including curriculum design, faculty recruitment, and resident selection.
- Establish partnerships with local hospitals and healthcare organizations to enhance educational opportunities and clinical experiences.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence, promoting high-quality patient care, medical education, and research.
- Foster strong relationships with residents, faculty, and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Board Certification by the ABPN or AOBNP.
- A minimum of 3 years post-residency participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program (Core Faculty designation is a plus).
- A minimum of 3 years of graduate medical education administrative experience prior to appointment (Associate Program Director or previous Program Director experience a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team-building skills.
- Candidates with recent scholarly activity, such as peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan matching, and generous paid time off.
