Job Title: Data Center Technician
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at TEKsystems. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of data center equipment according to specific instructions and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and stages data center equipment for deployment
- Performs quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues with data center equipment
- Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes
- Communicates and reports incidents to the team
Requirements:
- Previous IT cabling experience highly preferred
- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
- Any technical certification (i.e., CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+)
- Any previous IT experience
