Position Overview: Our client is in search of a Chief Financial Officer for Grant Management to spearhead their financial operations and accounting practices. This role is pivotal as the organization embarks on a significant initiative aimed at providing solar energy solutions to underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial and accounting functions, including invoicing, financial disclosures, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and compliance with grant reporting.
  • Ensure timely submission of all tax documents and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to funding agreements and contractual obligations.
  • Supervise external accountants in the preparation of financial statements and grant documentation.
  • Analyze financial data and present comprehensive reports to senior management and the Board.
  • Enhance internal control measures, risk management strategies, and compliance systems.
  • Implement new processes and systems to optimize efficiency and scalability in accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design financial management processes for new funding products.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and budget preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degrees or CPA designation preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience in accounting, particularly within non-profit or governmental sectors.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and accounting.
  • Extensive experience managing federal grants, with a focus on compliance and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in financial software and grant management systems.
  • A proactive leader with high emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset.
