Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary:

The Fiscal Manager - Grants plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of grant management for educational institutions, including colleges and charter schools. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is integral in ensuring accurate accounting practices, effective budgeting, and comprehensive financial reporting related to grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage financial reporting and accounting functions for educational activities.
  • Develop and analyze budgets, monitoring spending trends to align with organizational objectives.
  • Act as the primary financial contact for grant-related reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain financial documentation in accordance with audit standards, ensuring budget adherence.
  • Prepare month-end close journal entries, including salary accruals and indirect cost calculations.
  • Assist the Controller in delivering timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders.
  • Support the annual budgeting and auditing processes.
  • Engage in backlog resolution, system enhancements, and the development of accounting processes.
  • Supervise the Grant Coordinator, delegating tasks to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work model, subject to supervisor approval.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience in grant financial reporting is essential.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of federal guidelines is advantageous.
  • Experience with Abila MIP software is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Analytical mindset and a collaborative team player.
