Position Overview

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor plays a vital role in the healthcare team, delivering essential nursing services such as triage and anticoagulation management. Reporting to the Director of Primary Care and CAPS, this position is responsible for overseeing nursing functions within the clinic, ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care Management: Strategically plan and coordinate optimal patient care, ensuring compliance with departmental and facility standards. Responsibilities include:
  • Executing various nursing procedures within the scope of licensure, including IV administration and urinary catheterization.
  • Rooming patients and assisting healthcare providers with procedures and chronic disease management.
  • Administering immunizations and accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Supporting LPN and CMA staff with advanced procedures as necessary.
  • Documenting patient communications with providers in the EMR, including detailed resolutions.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with technical experts and departmental managers to address and resolve technical or procedural challenges.
  • Collaborate with ancillary leaders to navigate personnel matters involving shared staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that span multiple departments.
Staff Oversight: Supervise clinic nursing personnel, focusing on scheduling, time card management, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.
  • Address personnel issues in partnership with HR and the Director.
  • Resolve daily scheduling conflicts and time card discrepancies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist in developing training programs.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual compliance requirements.
Leadership Responsibilities: Participate in the clinic leadership call rotation, which includes:
  • Handling calls from staff during designated weekends.
  • Assisting with shift coverage as needed.
Compliance and Standards: Adhere to departmental and facility policies and procedures.
  • Understand and implement clinic policies effectively.
Additional Duties: Engage in project management initiatives, including orientation and clinic process evaluations.
  • Implement and assess nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare the clinic for surveys and evaluations.
  • Manage triage calls and assist patients according to established protocols.
  • Review and process medication refill requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Current RN license in WI & MN.
  • Anticoagulation certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in clinic, medical/surgical, urgent care, or emergency settings.
  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory or management role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Capability to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged durations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
